Since receiving my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill, I broadened and deepened my understanding of the human psyche by attending the 2-year Advanced Training program at The Psychotherapy Institute in Berkeley. I have also taken advanced courses at the Northern California Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology as well as have studied under senior practitioners in the area.
While most of my training is in Relational Depth Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, I spent nine years working at the inpatient psychiatric facility at John Muir Behavioral Health in Concord where I learned Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT. This breadth of experience allows me to tailor your therapy to what best facilitates your growth.
In addition to my formal training as a therapist, my many years as a trained musician lend an intuitive touch to my work while my years of Buddhist practice provide it a solid grounding in compassion and patience.
If my words here have spoken to you at all, please call or email me. I look forward to talking to you about how we might work together to create positive and lasting change in your life and relationships.
